These free courses include introductions to cybersecurity, social networking, Python programming, entrepreneurship and more; deadline to register has been extended to June 19th
Registration is now open for free continuing education classes through City Colleges of Chicago, a new Cisco Networking Academy. The courses offered, which are completely online and self-directed, are Cybersecurity Essentials, NDG Linux Unhatched, Get Connected (social media for beginners), PCAP: Programming Essentials in Python, Intro to Packet Tracer, Intro to the Internet of Things, and Entrepreneurship. “During this unprecedented time, we want to make sure Chicagoans are still learning and gaining marketable skills that will serve them well in an ever more technology-focused job market. City Colleges is proud to be an official Cisco Networking Academy, and to bring these free classes to anyone who wants to lay a foundation for future tech studies and careers,” said City Colleges Chancellor Juan Salgado.
These foundational courses are designed for individuals with limited or no background in IT, and will prepare participants to take more advanced Cisco Networking Academy courses. The courses vary in length from ten to seventy hours each, and students who successfully pass a course exam will receive a Cisco Course Certificate of Completion. A computer with internet connection is required to successfully complete these classes and courses must be completed by December 31, 2020.
