Today, the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation announced the list of semifinalists under consideration for this year’s Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, including 21 students from City Colleges of Chicago!
The 21 CCC students listed below make up the majority of the 30 semifinalists selected from the state of Illinois for the highly-competitive award. In total, 406 semifinalists were chosen from a pool of over 1,500 applications from 398 community colleges. The Foundation plans to announce the final scholarship recipients this April.
Through the Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation supports community college students from across the country who are seeking to complete their bachelor’s degrees at top four-year institutions. Last year, seven students from City Colleges were selected as semifinalists for the scholarship, and Wright College’s Heather Atherton was ultimately announced as one of only 50 students from across the country to receive the prestigious award.
