For the Chicago Public Schools Class of 2021, high school graduation may be just the start of good things to come this summer. Our new Summer Start program can help them continue the celebration by earning college English credits for free and up to $1,000 in stipends.

Summer Start at City Colleges, which runs from July 6th to August 6th, is designed to help ensure students’ momentum into and through college English during their first year of post-high school education. Through the program, those who graduate from CPS in Fall 2020 or Spring 2021, and plan to enroll at City Colleges for our Fall 2021 semester, may be eligible to take English 96 or 97/101 online for free this summer, thereby jumpstarting their college journey and success.

As class will be held over Zoom, City Colleges is offering Summer Start Scholars with Wi-Fi hotspots and laptops to borrow. In addition to their studies, students can take advantage of other optional resources and opportunities, such as mentorship, tutoring, a campus tour, and social events.

CPS Class of 2021, this could be the perfect Summer Start to your college journey. To learn more and apply by the May 14th priority application deadline, visit www.ccc.edu/start.
