On Friday, September 10th, Wright College, City Colleges’ Center of Excellence for Engineering and Computer Science, hosted our system’s first-ever TEDx Talk – a one-of-a-kind event focused on engineering for personal and community growth.

The event was the perfect opportunity for two alumni – Alexandra Medina and Vasilios Soupos – to return to their alma mater to share their personal stories of struggle and success – and how their community college education provided a pathway into one of the most in-demand fields in the country.

Through a series of inspiring speeches, Alexandra and Vasilios were joined by other leaders in the engineering field, who discussed the obstacles they’ve overcome to promote equity in the industry.
