City Colleges of Chicago

For 31 City Colleges students, this isn’t just graduation season—it’s award season, too.

TheDream.US recently announced that 31 CCC graduates have received its high-value National Scholarship Award, which is designed to support undocumented students as they transition to four-year colleges or universities.

The scholarship covers up to $33,000 per year and is renewable for an additional year. For many our students, that will mean full tuition coverage at their transfer destinations.

Nataly Hernandez was one of 29 City Colleges students to earn the award last year. TheDream.US funding allowed her to transfer to Northeastern University at no cost to pursue her dream of studying social work and giving back to the community.

City Colleges congratulates this year’s recipients and wishes them the best of luck as they move on to earn their bachelor’s degrees. We look forward to sharing stories about how their degrees will allow them to make a positive impact our city.

We also thank the dedicated support of the Transfer Centers at each of our campuses who have helped these students—and so many others—navigate their college dreams.
