On Saturday, May 6, 2023, City Colleges of Chicago graduates from all seven colleges gathered at Wintrust Arena to celebrate a remarkable achievement: earning their associate degrees.

The Class of 2023 consists of about 3,500 total associate degree earners, many of whom took part in the celebration on May 6. More than half of those graduates are first-generation college students, and a quarter are Star Scholars, meaning they earned their associate degrees tuition-free.

Graduates range in age from 15 years old to nearly 70, and they’ve come to Chicago from more than 80 different countries around the world.

The May 6th celebration consisted of two ceremonies and featured engaging speeches, videos, and a traditional marching of graduates.
