Jade Ocampo
Growing up in Chicago’s Belmont Cragin neighborhood, Jade Ocampo never imagined that her post-high school journey would take her into the world of quantum research, professional engineering societies, and national internships.
While working as a contractor, Jose Luna drove past Malcolm X College every day for three months.
“It was like it was calling to me,” he said.
In the spring of 2023, Jose answered the call by enrolling in free Adult Education courses to obtain his high school diploma. He attributes his success to the support system at Malcolm X, which inspired him to further his education at City Colleges by becoming a credit student and working towards his associate degree.
Jose dreams of being an architect and building homes in Chicago one day. He has no doubt that dream will become a reality as he’s already achieved one goal: becoming a high school graduate.
